So.............. I& #39;ve tested positive for covid-19. Been transferred to the quarantine centre for next couple of days till my results are negative. Sigh I never thought it would be me ey. Never in a million years
Hey all. Firstly thank you so much for the positive messages and well wishes from all of you. I& #39;ll try to answer all the questions in this here thread and share whatever may be important and valuable.
To start with, me getting tested was by choice. I come from chilenje area just near shoprite and if you all recall, there have been cases reported of that virus recorded in this area. My friend called me up about a mass screening in our area so I decided I was gonna get tested
too. I was told the results would be out within 24-48hrs. If I didn& #39;t get a call, it was good news, if I got a call(well I& #39;m here now so there& #39;s that). The next few days I went about my business then yesterday around 18hrs heading to 19, I got a call regarding results for that
test. The call was from one of the doctors. Early morning today, another doctor called asking for exact directions and also ensure everyone in our house was safe. They came by, informed me of my results and took me in an ambulance to the hospital for quarantine. Prior to me
getting tested and eventually being admitted, I exhibited & experienced no signs or symptoms of sickness whatsoever, even thus far. Doctors have enquired about persons I& #39;ve been in contact with recently and where I think I may have contracted it from. Details of all persons I& #39;ve
been in contact with were submitted to the doctor for medical personnel to follow up. Regarding no new cases reported, please note I don& #39;t know how that& #39;s done but my assumption is that my case will be reported later today and I guess I& #39;ll be a stat for tomorrow. Maybe there are
further tests done before being sent to whoever gives the minister info for them to report. Obviously for security reasons, they won& #39;t allow certain info being sent out, all of this is on my own accord. What I will say though, is that there is enough room in the quarantine ward,
The doctors will regularly come by to check on you and you& #39;re treated as am infectious person, because you are. I& #39;d like to believe that I& #39;ve answered whatever questions you may have had, I& #39;ll try to tackle others one at a time if it& #39;s not amongst any in this thread.
