Here's my two cents
GM Syed is one of the most prominent politicians in the history of sindh and Pakistan. He was integral to the only resolution passed in sindh assembly in 1943 for establishing Pakistan. 1

Later GM Syed remained in Pakistani politics for several years and finally started his separation movement with the name of Jeay Sindh Mahaz. JSM introduced the political ideology of Sindhudesh, a separate country for sindhis. 2
GM Syed was part of Muslim League before Mohammed Ali Jinnah joined the league.
GM Syed made significant literary contributions by writing several books. One of his prominent books is Religion and Reality, translated from sindhi book "Jeeain ditho aahey moon".
I will be quoting some extracts from that book.
1. Religious beliefs were product of fear and doubt, which impelled the primitive men into superstition.
2. All the existing religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Jainism, Zoroasterainism, Taoism, ..4
..... have in some form or the other the elements of primitive beliefs and rituals.
3. Modern organized religions are no more than five thousand years old at the most. 5
4. In the early religions, gods were regarded as vengeful and cruel. Concept of compassionate and benevolent God was a later product.
5. Religious beliefs, faith in superstitions, rituals and prayers have lost much of their sanctity after the scientific inventions and .... 6
...the rise of intellectualism.
6. The claim made by the founders of the religions that they were gifted with supernatural wisdom and knowledge and had the power of revelations, was for impressing the importance of their good messages on the people.
