Rating shit like music and movies always seems really easy until I stsrt comparing the scores I give things. For example Yesterday I watched’A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up Tommy Turner!’ and Today I watched ‘The Platform’ on Netflix. 1/4
I gave both of them mostly negative reviews, A Fairly Odd Movie got 4/10 and The Platform got 5/10. And it just seems so weird for me tk do that because, yeah the platform was a half-baked movie about capitalism that thought it was way smarter than it was and A Fairly Odd 2/4
Movie is just Drake Bell acting like Timmy Turner for 50 minutes, I had very similar feelings in terms of a linear positive-negative scale. I liked The Platform just a little more because it at least was a competent movie with some nice moments, while A Fairly Odd Movie 3/4
was barely even a movie. I try to score things based purly off “how much do I like this” and sometimes that’s different than “how objectively competent is this”, and it can be hard to distinguish. Idk if you like The Platform like most people do you prolly hate this thread lmao /
