I’m participating in a 24-hour Silent Retreat starting at 9am, which consists of:

• No speaking
• No electronics
• Not even any books!

Just meditation, journaling, art, etc.

So, this Silent Retreat day was awesome!

Highlights:

• Disconnecting from social media felt freeing
• Going for a walk with no digital distractions made me appreciate nature more & focus on breathing
• Journaling and getting my thoughts on paper freed up mental space
Challenges:

• I typically listen to music 24/7 (incl. while sleeping, showering), so the silence was LOUD
• I got anxious towards the end of the day because I REALLY wanted to check my phone notifications

All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend this experience! I think I’ll repeat it 1x/mo.
