THREAD: Apparently, @realDonaldTrump has “urged Americans to inject themselves with disinfectant” and, “told people to drink bleach.”

But is this really the case? Let's see.
The context: @realDonaldTrump made comments at the White House Coronavirus Task Force press briefing, on new scientific findings from the Department of Homeland Security.

To understand Trumps comments, it’s important to understand the full context of what was said.
Secretary for Science and Technology at DHS, first said “Our most striking observation to date is the powerful effect that solar light appears to have on killing the virus, both surfaces and in the air. We’ve seen a similar effect with both temperature and humidity as well-"
He also talked about the life span of the coronavirus different surfaces. He said that when they “inject” UV rays into the mix with increased humidity and higher temperatures, the virus dies.

He further stated that they tested if types of disinfectant could kill the virus.
“We’ve tested bleach, we’ve tested isopropyl alcohol on the virus, specifically in saliva or in respiratory fluids, and I can tell you that bleach will kill the virus in five minutes,” he said.
He added, “We’re also looking at other disinfectants, specifically looking at the COVID-19 virus in saliva.”

This is where, immediately following these statements by the Secretary for Science and Technology at DHS, Trump made his comments that sparked the news stories.
"So, I’m going to ask Bill a question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposing when we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you-
- said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you’re going to test that too. Sounds interesting. And then I see-
the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that,-
so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful." - @realDonaldTrump
Trump then clarified his remarks: “It wouldn’t be through injections, you’re talking about almost a cleaning and sterilization of an area. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t work, but it certainly has a big affect if it’s on a stationary object.”
This article says "It is, in many ways, a disappointment that the world has ended up with a president of the United States that publicly advises his people to inject themselves with bleach"

This is one of many articles that are making false claims.
There's not only articles like this, but Nancy Pelosi herself falsely claims that President Trump wants people to "inject lysol into their lungs," using it to say Republicans "reject governance." https://twitter.com/mrctv/status/1253778236259004416?s=20
Yes, Trump should keep these 'brainstorming' like comments to behind closed doors, and yes, he could of explained himself a bit better originally. But, Trump in no way told people to "inject themselves with bleach" or "inject lysol into their lungs".
The media continues to make false claims and misconstrues the words of @POTUS. They continue to tell only half of the story to convince the gullible masses of their lies. In this case, they totally manipulated the words of the President and left out his clarification.
My comments aren't coming from a right-wing or #ProTrump view. They're coming from an anger of the rise of #fakenews.
