she's NOT the usual movie grandma who bakes cakes and has comfort food ready for you.
my grandma either takes us out to a cool restaurant where she drinks wine then drives, or she fries an egg. there is

LITERALLY no in between.
she's the best baker but she stopped doing them a decade ago out of pure laziness and just prefers buying out instead. when she bakes a cake herself its always a new recipe she invents and never repeats bc she doesnt write it down.
she's well off.

like her presents are always money or a beautiful purse or brand clothing. she's very chic and she gets her hair done at least twice a month.
when she met my ex on my grandpa's birthday dinner she came out of her bedroom and was flustered: "i'm not even ready!"

she met him, returned to her bedroom, and proceeded to come back wearing the exact same thing, but with a string of pearls.
she loves jewelry and traveling. she likes fancy stuff and she reads blogs on politics on her ipad. she's very well informed about EVERYTHING.

she says funny shit out of the blue. like she chastises kids for eating out but she loves going to mcdonald's. she likes going to the movies and comments her impressions very loudly, convinced that she's whispering. I've never heard her singing bc I'm sure she'd sound TERRIBLE.

she doesnt dwell on the past at all. she's a very positive person. she already lost both parents and every single one of her siblings - all to cancer. she had cancer twice - once on her liver. she had it removed by half. me and my sister, the eldest granddaughters, were young.

whenever we visited her in the hospital and she was doing chemo she always said it was a beauty treatment. we never knew any different bc she never seemed sad.
i once asked her what she did when she knew she was sick. at that point both parents and two out of four siblings were

already gone. she said she just kind of shrugged bc she saw my grandpa crying and completely losing it, saying he didn't know what he'd do without her. so she said she had to deal with it.
they've been together over fifty years. she complains about him daily. he worships the

ground she steps on. however he's also very cheeky and makes constant jokes about her trying to kill him for money. it's just the kind of teasing my family does.
they took me to israel and i spent weeks with just the two of them. I love them and miss them so, so so so much.
