This is only circumstantial evidence, but I think Kim Jong-un has some serious health issues, is dying, or even dead. An article in today& #39;s Rodong Sinmun is unprecedented as far as I know. The introduction and depiction of Kim Jae-ryong is in a style I& #39;ve only seen for the Kims.
A different term is used for Kim Jae-ryong& #39;s on-site visits (현지료해, not 현지지도), and the verbs do not use the honorific infix "시" but the format & photo of him providing instructions mirrors the Kims. Even when Kim Jong-Il suffered his stroke, I never saw Chang Sŏng-t& #39;aek
or anyone else appearing in the media in this manner. I can& #39;t imagine KJU tolerating this when one of the reasons he went ballistic against Chang was Chang& #39;s proteges calling Chang "comrade number 1" as they partied at a villa. How could this appear on 4.25, the foundation day
for Kim Il-sung& #39;s the guerrilla army? The feeling of this piece is an introduction of another figure who is competent in handling party & state affairs. Kim Jae-ryong does not have the experience or stature of Ch& #39;oe Ryong-hae, but Kim has risen quickly in the party & govt ranks.
In April 2019 the Politburo elected Kim as a full member; the same month the SPA elected him as premier of the cabinet. He has been a member of the Central Committee only since May 2016. In June 2016, he was elected as chairman of the Chagang Province Party Committee.
In Sept 2016, Kim read a public statement in Chagang Province from the NK Nuclear Weapons Institute, and in Dec 2017 he read a DPRK govt congratulatory statement on the completion of NK& #39;s nuclear rocket forces.
