Mistakes happen. Sometimes you hear something and don’t realize where it’s from. But when you know better, you do better. You fix it. You share. You make it a priority to say “here are the voices that are so profound, they are penetrating my subconscious”

It’s matters that we acknowledge the work of Black women. For example, Maya Angelou also popularized “know better, do better” especially bc she reminded her mentee Oprah Winfrey of this mantra in an attempt to encourage us all to avoid shame and embrace our own growth.
Final tweet: I don’t usually feel the need to name names bc problematic patterns are typically prevalent, and I want to attack ideas not people. But when you make yourself an example by repeating the pattern on an increasingly growing platform, it’s time to call it out.
