Re: @Concordia holding convocation virtually: I was expelled from Dawson in 2013. Took time off to figure stuff out, enrolled at Concordia as an independent student to build a GPA to apply for journalism. I worked my butt off for four years. 1/?
I had so much hate for myself for so long because of what went down at Dawson - (full disclosure: I was depressed after my mom died and could hardly leave my bed). Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. 2/?
The idea of standing on a stage and accepting my diploma in front of a family that once stopped believing in me played a big part in how hard I tried for good grades. I lived and breathed school for four years. 3/?

I wrote a story about grads being upset and it got a lot of flak. Just thought I’d throw my two cents in. Please give us a convocation ceremony later, @Concordia. I want to say goodbye properly.
