i've reached the next stage of sakuatsu brainrot — thinking about their wedding vows

more at 12.
ok, so wedding vows are promises, right? but they're also declarations of love. and i think their wedding vows would be very different from each other because their approaches to "declaring love" would come from their contrasting personalities and worldviews
when atsumu loves sakusa, his love extends to the galaxies & far beyond the limits of their human bodies. he's the type of person who would want to broadcast his love to every corner of the world if he could. to quote one of my favorite fics, "he doesn't do love by half-measures"
and so his vows read like the hero of an epic poem confessing to his love amidst the tides of war. they would be full of metaphor and weighty words,

"i would trek across worlds for you"
"i would fight a wave of giants to reach you"
"i choose to love you deeply until DEATH"
(yes, there would be a mention of mortality somewhere in there. i just know it.)

others would find his vows corny. atsumu doesn't care. that's just how he feels, wholeheartedly and honestly.
sakusa, on the other hand — his vows would stay grounded in reality. because atsumu changed his reality so much that's the imagery he would associate his love with.

atsumu changed sakusa's everyday life in many little ways, both good and bad, all adding up to a big sum of love.
"the smell of your deodorant makes me less sulky in the mornings"
"i swear to never watch an episode of catfish without you"
"you know all my secrets"
"i let you kiss me when you haven't brushed your teeth — that's how much i love you"
their wedding guests would probably find them a little funny, try to stifle their laughter, but atsumu would cry IMMEDIATELY.

sakusa can't express his feelings well with words so he knows how much these all mean to him, how much weight they carry
they love from different angles, from different frames of reference. they interpret their feelings differently and that's reflected in their vows.

but it's love all the same
