Thoughts from the NFL Draft to parents and kids:

Tristan Wirfs (13th pick) is 325 lbs and runs faster than the fastest kid on many HS teams. (4.85 electronic 40)

Brandon Aiyuk is a 6’0” Wr... w/ a 6’11” wingspan... (also freakishly fast)

There’s been DEs that are +300 lbs and an OLB that was 267 lbs.

I once coached a DE that got drafted. He was 6’4” 260 and ran a 4.65 elec. 40: that’s faster than ANY kid on my HS team the last 5 years.

Until you’ve been around that level of talent, you may not “get it.”

D1 athletes/ Pro Prospects are genetic FREAKS. Have you noticed that there’s a theme in this draft (and many others before it)?

“His dad was a first round pick in 199_”

“His dad played __years for the (insert nfl team)”

Heck - 1 first rounder’s parents we’re BOTH Olympians 3/5
Right now they’re talking about a guy’s sisters and brothers, and mom and dad who were all D1 athletes... it’s all about genetics.

It’s awesome to have aspirations to play college ball. But understand your genetics. Don’t blame your HS coach bc you didn’t go D1.

If you’re a D1 talent, a D1 coach/ college WILL find you - their job literally depends on it.

If HS coaches could wave a magic wand and have a team full of D1 kids, they absolutely would... bc they’re genetic freaks, and that would translate into a LOT of Wins...

Adding to this thread... this dude is clearly a freak... and went in the 7th round... also should be noted that his only D1 offer out of HS was as a WALK-ON at Mich State. https://twitter.com/kennyw97/status/1243307171636490241?s=21
