I've been told that I own a commonlaw trademark on "ComicsGate" because I was the first to actually use it in commerce. But we've been through this for years now, and I've come to realize that claiming this phrase would be a villainous thing to do. It belongs to everyone. https://twitter.com/EthanVanSciver/status/1253841777485844483
#ComicsGate was like a dilapidated mansion. SJWs and others were throwing stones through it's windows.

Some of us decided to fix it up and make it a nice place to be. I've been a caretaker for ComicsGate for a couple of years and I've been pulling weeds and dragging hoes.
The lawn is lovely now. But I don't own it and never will.
If you want to be ComicsGate and help create a better customer-creator relationship for comic books, you're welcome to join us.

#ComicsGate is yours and mine, and it's even shared by people who hate it.
I absolutely love ComicsGate. It's the best thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee's dawn of Marvel Comics.

HAIL COMICSGATE! It belongs to everyone (Except Smiller) and no one in particular, forever. 🐸🤷‍♂️🌈
