#39;s "Going My Way," a movie whose praises

#39;s not generally recognized at its proper worth, partly because of the religious subject matter and partly because McCarey himself is underappreciated.
It is, in fact, one of THE great studio-system films, and Bing Crosby&
#39;s performance leaves no doubt that he was a natural actor of the first rank—so good that he could effortlessly hold his own against Barry Fitzgerald. And yes, tears will be shed, but that&
#39;s O.K. by me.
