I’ve always felt empowered to walk on the street on the greenway street 18th Ave S because there are spots that get blocked. But sure was fun to just walk it knowing most people driving wouldn’t likely be going fast! @seattledot https://flic.kr/p/2iU2jGY
The map from SDOT marked the intersection at College as getting some kind of crossing improvement. I don’t know what yet! It’s always been a little scary to cross here. https://flic.kr/p/2iU2jGc
On my way back down hill I stopped to look at this blossoming tree next to the sidewalk. Then instead of walking there, I went back to the street because someone was running up and down the stairs for exercise. https://flic.kr/p/2iTZJxM
I’m glad we’re finally making our greenways more welcoming to its intended users. Sad for the reason though.
Also reminder to reach out to your elected officials to make sure everyone is taken care of during this time. https://twitter.com/rachaelludwick/status/1253746354884468737
Today we biked back and forth on a few blocks of 18th with the kiddo on her own bike. It’s hard to do this on the trail because there’s not much space so hard for people to pass the slow learning kid. Much easier on a full street.
But we’d never considered having her practice biking in the street before because this street used to feel primarily for cars. Hopefully she actually is tired tonight. It’s been hard getting her enough exercise.
Kiddo vetoed her appearance even at a distance in this picture but here’s the family biking on one of our new people streets! https://flic.kr/p/2iUJUUx
