I'm off on a folk trip now...
The Humpback Whale - Nic Jones
This is so melancholy
The best Thursday night set I ever saw at Cambridge Folk Festival was @ChrisWood_Music. He played a stunning version of this - my favourite of his songs. RIP Jean Charles de Menezes#action=share
Not as nice a person as the above two by all accounts... but John Martyn just blows you away sometimes.
I saw @mindysmithmusic at Dingwalls (or whatever it was called by then...) and her singing was stunning. Could pick many from One Moment More, but atheist though I am, this one stands out...
I love @gillianwelch, and I could pick any number of tracks, so I feel a bit bad picking one under the @TheDaveRawlings label (even though both are singing). But Ruby always grabs me...
The wine bottle's empty and I'm determined not to open another one, so penultimately...
@DarWilliamsTour, Beauty of the Rain
Not coming down as such (sadly) but to wind things up, it's the Comedown Queen herself, @beth_orton. The last time I saw her was a small upstairs venue at Spitalfields with the late great @bert_jansch
