A reminder to folks hiring sensitivity editors and readers right now:

We're all fragile, we're all tired, and the emotional labor that your sensitivity readers do is likely weighing more.

When you read your SR feedback definitely take time to process.
I say this because I know when you're emotionally weighed down, getting any kind of feedback is a struggle, and you might find yourself on the defensive more easily than you might otherwise.

Take the breath, remember that you sought out support and be thoughtful.
I should also say that this isn't about any of my clients right now, but is something I've been thinking about as I do the work.

Fellow editors, we should be thinking about this too: try to make your delivery kind, even if it's hard.
I debated posting this thread because I want folks to feel safe hiring me - but this message, I hope, will reassure you that I'm coming to client manuscripts with my eyes wide open about the context we live in now.
