Virgo Moons – an as-detailed-a- possible thread

Someone DM'd me asking to tell about Virgo Moons, and I thought why not just make a thread about 'em so that everyone can read it!

[ Lorde is a Virgo Moon ;-) ]

Firstly I'll start off with some basic overall traits of Virgo Moons, since although additional analysis of the chart is needed to get the description of a placement entirely accurate (e.g. looking at Mercury (the ruler of Virgo Moon) and it's sign and house, looking at the–

–house and aspects of the Virgo Moon itself, etc) all Virgo Moons do generally share some traits in common, although I'll be going into detail of more specific Virgo Moon placements later in this thread.

Virgo Moons tend to be very openly caring people, but not always in the way that comes across best. Virgo Moons will tend to criticize in attempt to help others they care about improve. Their earthy Mercurial nature can tend to make them very upfront and clear about it too, no–

–beating around the bush. These people are really good at taking care of those they love, even if they don't always get the recognition they deserve for it since their form of showing care is very practical and critical. Really, Virgo Moons do have the people they care about–

–best interest at heart, and are just trying to help them improve and grow as people, and become better. Virgo Moons may struggle with accepting people for how they are, though, for this reason. Often finding themselves drawn to people they can care for and try to "fix."

Virgo Moons aren't just trying to help those they care about improve, but themselves as well. Often very critical of their own emotional selves and striving too hard to rationalize their emotions and not trying t care for their own emotions. They're also quite critical of their–

body and appearance, as that is one of the things the Moon signifies. This can manifest as anything from being very cautious or controlling of what they eat and put into their body, taking extra good care of their health physically, trying very hard to always have a put-together–

–look etc. The Moon also has domain over possessions, meaning Virgo Moons generally can be very picky with what they purchase or own, or they may actually be quite generous people and be the type to give many gifts. The home is also something of the Moon, and as such Virgo Moons–

–as a Mercurial mutable Moon, can actually be the type to move around a lot, enjoy moving to new places, or not mind moving at the least. But, once having moved to a new location they really do care about setting up a perfect space for themselves to feel secure in as they are a–

–earth sign. Being Mercurial, Virgo Moons often don't are as much about having a large living space as much as they care about having a more manageable yet interesting living space. One with enough room to place things in an orderly way and to have people over, but not so big–

–that they have no idea what to do with the extra space. Finally, the Moon also signifies the mother, and Virgos Moons tend to have had a mother who expected a lot of them, especially academically and in their appearance and manners. Virgo Moons' mother likely had siblings aka–

–most Virgos Moons do have at least an aunt or uncle on their mother's side if not more than one. But also, Virgo Moons' mother tends to be someone who has the Virgo Moons' interest at heart– but may have had trouble really getting that across in a less expecting/critical way.

That's a brief overview, now I'll list some traits of Virgo Moons with Mercury (its' ruler) in each of the signs.

Virgo w/ Aries Merc: controlling/blunt with those they are close to, competitive/place a lot of their emotional wellbeing on how good they are compared to others–

the mother was likely quite demanding, doesn't care too much for possessions but is very possessive of what they do own and buy, a bit greater-than-thou but also humorous, probably a bit more confident in their appearance, holds back emotions until they just explode.

Virgo w/ Taurus Merc: Stubborn emotionally but does accept other's criticism of them more easily, a bit gentler and less blunt than some Virgo Moons, can be extra critical of themselves when they don't feel they're appearance is good enough, definitely the type to give a lot–

–of gifts, mother was likely very caring, very picky with what they buy especially if it's to decorate their space, they tend to enjoy decorating things such as their homebut they can be very perfectionist about it, may be very careful with what they eat.

Virgo w/ Gemini Merc: Very Mercurial and needs to talk out their emotions with someone they trust, not the type to rant about how they feel on the internet (unless maybe on a private account) but rather to close friends or family, very back and forth with what they want and–

–expect of themselves/ In appearance they tend to hyper-focus on the smaller details, that one freckle they don't like or exactly which color to wear that day, their mother probably really pushed for academic excellence, maybe leading to these Virgo Moons putting too much of

their emotional happiness based on their academic success. Very subject to change of living location, can get easily bored if living somewhere too far away from things. Mother almost definitely has siblings unless otherwise shown in the chart.

Virgo w/ Cancer Merc: Extremely thoughtful of others and trying to improve them and their life, but in a more passive way than some other Virgo Moons. Tends to be more openly emotional and can really overshare with their friends sometimes. The mother was probably very present–

–and could often be overly present, having taken too much control in the Virgo Moons' life, even if likely just in childhood. Easily gets attached to their possessions for small and nearly insignificant reasons. Puts a lot of effort into self-care, but also can be extremely–

–critical of themselves in their domestic abilities, can try really hard to make a comfy home and such and may beat themselves up if they don't manage to make themselves and others comfortable enough. Rational but may be over- rational with their emotions until it all spills over

Virgo w/ Leo Merc: Tries to perfect others they're close to to be perfect to match into their life rather than accepting them for who they already are, also extremely self-critical, especially when it comes to how much they please others and their own appearance. Their mother–

definitely had high expectations of these Virgo Moons and they probably tried extremely hard to impress their mother. They type to go all-out when buying something they really want, but still tries their utmost best to be cautious with their money and spending.

Virgo w/ Virgo Merc: Very much 100% a Virgo Moon. Very self-critical and perfectionist with those they’re close with, tries hard to be as attentive as possible to those they care about, but also has trouble accepting their flaws. Their mother probably expected a lot out of them

academically and in mannerisms. When it comes to their body and appearance, these Virgo Moons tend to be very nitpicky and controlling with themselves. Communication is very important in the close connections these Virgo Moons have. Emotionally, they suppress a lot of things

until they’re alone or can talk it out with someone or come up with a solution.

Virgo w/ Libra Merc: Like Taurus Mercury-Virgo Moons, these people tend to have a more subtle and gentle way in helping others improve themselves, but also tend to be very nitpick-y with their

appearance. They’re probably especially perfectionist with their fashion style and outfits. As well, they have an affinity for decorating well and can be perfectionist with it. Their mother likely has pushed not only for excellence academically, but with their relationship

mannerisms as well.

Virgo w/ Scorpio Merc: These people are definitely quite intense, and have a lot of stuff to nitpick about, but are also very kept-to-themselves about it and won’t say anything on it until they’re actually really annoyed, a more emotional type of Virgo

Moons but only with those they really, really trust. Their mother was likely protective but also defensive and a bit blunt, maybe even somewhat demanding towards these Virgo Moons at times. These Virgo Moons probably spend a good amount of time alone or in their home, or at very

minimum are NOT the type of people to like having a roommate at all.

Virgo w/ Sag Merc: These Virgo Moons may struggle a lot to meet their intelligence expectations set by themselves and likely their mother, as their Mercury is in detriment. Better at thinking outside of the

box and being great at that and working hard at that, rather than working hard at doing and learning exactly as they are expected to, often being better at perfecting things through practice than through reading enough about it as most Virgo Moons would be best learning.

Definitely the type of Virgo Moon to beat around the bush a bit with their criticism rather than being upfront about it. More carefree with their appearance and emotions, at least by Virgo Moon standards.

Virgo w/ Cap Merc: These Virgos Moons most definitely had a critical mother, and are extremely critical and down on themselves because of it. These people may be the type to put a lot of rules in place for themselves when it comes to taking care of themselves and those they

care about, and also tend to really get down on themselves when they don’t meet their own expectations for themselves, or their family’s expectations of them. These people are definitely very practical with what they own and where they live, also very hardworking and push

themselves to be as rational and minimal with their emotions as possible and to find practical solutions to them as fast as possible.

Virgo w/ Aqua Merc: These Virgo Moons ruled by a Saturnian Mercury, just like Cap Mercury-Virgo Moons, tend to be extra critical of themselves

and have had a mother who was extra critical of them, and also likely a more traditional type of mother in her way of thinking. Having good social mannerisms is something that was put into these Virgo Moons’ minds in a strict way, as was having a more practical yet noticeable

appearance. These Virgo Moons crave validation from those they are close with, often because they can’t find validation from themselves. When it comes to possessions and housing, these people are very practical with it, but also tend to be generous to those they care about, and

also need to live somewhere where socialization is easy to access.

Virgo w/ Pisces Merc: Virgo Moons ruled by a planet in their opposing sign can cause inner conflict for these individuals, craving academic and practical success but being unable to find it. With appearances

and the body being a big aspect of the Moon, these Virgo Moons often try hard to make their appearance look good, but in a more creative way. Playing around with their outfits or even getting a well-planned-out tattoo. The mothers of these Virgo Moons can be very understanding,

but also still finding ways to subtly hint at wanting and expecting more from the Virgo Moons. These people are definitely not direct with their emotions, and are the type to drop subtle hints to those they are close with rather than upfront talking about their emotions.

These are just brief overviews of Virgo Moons, and by no means an exhaustive description at all, I didn’t even get to the Moon’s house placement, nonetheless the house placements of the Virgo Moon and its’ ruling planet, Mercury.
