1. You are going to die.

That is a fact.

For most of us, though, we don't know the day, and it often comes unexpectedly.

I lost a buddy of mine this week.

He was having chest pains, but didn't want to go to the hospital because of #Covid_19

Heart attack got him.
2. But while you're alive, here are some things you need to take care of so you don't leave a mess for you loved ones:

-Get a will. You can do these over the internet, AND you can even get it NOTARIZED online.

-If you own stuff that doesn't have named beneficiaries, get a trust
3. The trust will make sure your stuff doesn't go through probate, which is expensive and time consuming.

And it will keep your financial details private.
4. BTW,

If you have life insurance of financial products like IRA's, they usually don't need to be part of the trust because you named a beneficiary.

Be sure to check that your beneficiary is who you want it to be, not your ex wife or husband that you hate.

(Yes, it happens)
5. -IF YOU HAVE A BUSINESS....

Make sure you have written down passwords, banking info, customer info, etc for whomever is going to take over the business.

And, if they need to access money, remind them to do it BEFORE they let the bank know you're dead.
6. We all think we're going to live forever, but the problem is you die, and your loved ones have to deal with your dysfunction if you don't take care of this.

Take care of it this weekend,

And then you have earned the right to celebrate being an adult.
