My thread is based on 4 MAIN OPTIONS:
1. The definition of a solo act.
2. What does ‘feat.’ mean in a music act?
3. The process of producing and releasing CNS.
4. How Billboard and Forbes acknowledge CNS as j-hope’s solo song.
1. WHAT IS ‘A SOLO ACT’?
Once saying an artist going to make a solo song or solo album, it DOESN’T MEAN the song or the album had to BE PERFORMED by JUST ONLY HIM/HER in order to be call a ‘solo’. A solo music act doesn’t litterally mean ‘performed by only artist’ to be honest.
=> For example: PSY did his solo work with 2 single featuring Snoop Dogg (‘Hangover’) and CL (‘Daddy’) and all of these songs are still counted as PSY’s songs. This is PSY's solo discovery on Hot 100.
In case of Hoseok, it’s true that all the work he’s carried outside BTS’s work have been considered as his solo work (official & unofficial). So CNS, firstly, has been seen as his solo work as a K-solo artist, not just a song performed by him alongside with the guest Becky G.
Proof for EXTRA INFO: This is IU's achievements (weekly awards & gaon digital chart) with her solo song 'Palette’ (ft. GD). No one says sth like “It’s not her solo song, it’s a collab song”, or “It’s not counted as her solo achievements when it’s performed by both her and GD”.
That's what I wanna tell you guys about the issue #jhope #제이홉 #BTS
