All professional sport could be eligible to resume playing behind closed doors.
But strict criteria specific to each sport would have to be met before they were given the green light.
Each sport would have to meet this broad criteria:

1. Regular testing arrangements for participants - paid for by sporting authorities or clubs to avoid depriving key frontline workers of the vital tests they need to be able to continue working.
2. Ensure staff are safe from the risk of infection
3. Prevent any extra burden being placed on the emergency services
4. Clubs would also have to ensure they have measures in place to deal with certain fan behaviour, such as the risk of impromptu fan gatherings outside grounds
The priority is to get the Premier League season finished as it would allow the transfer window to open and enable money to trickle down the football pyramid.
Boris Johnson was briefed on the plan earlier this week and sees the resumption of live sport as key to boosting the moral of the nation. A Whitehall source said: "It would give the whole country a huge lift."
