hey @nintendoamerica #acnh localization team! you've done an amazing job with this and every other ac, translating jokes and puns cleverly, making the game a joy to play no matter your language! with that said, i have a small favor to ask you!
i'm a proud indonesian american, and it took me a while to realize that there was indonesian music in the game—gamelan music specifically, because "k.k. gamelan" is localized to "k.k. marathon" in almost every language (except for japanese, korean, dutch, and chinese.)
i don't get the reason behind calling it k.k. marathon, besides perhaps a worry that players won't understand the meaning of gamelan? but in 2020, everyone can search for words they don't understand, and it could be an opportunity for others to learn about indonesian culture!
it would mean SO much to me and other indonesians if you could localize k.k. gamelan as k.k. gamelan instead of k.k. marathon! would appreciate for ppl to share this thread so it has a chance of reaching the right folks! đź’•
