Accuracy matters to me, & I can't find where Trump suggested injecting household disinfectant. I found where he noted that disinfectant kills virus ON SURFACES, then said "Is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside [...it would be interesting to research]."
Which is a clunky 2nd grader's style of describing medical research--and he has no business off-handedly musing/riffing about research possibilities, I agree--but I think we do a disservice to critiques of Trump when choose easily-dismissed, unlikely interpretations of his words.
And please, I would love for someone with an advanced med or science degree to tell me if his words are completely off the mark, not for a president, but for a layperson describing, say, chemotherapy? This is my own curiosity. But arent there actual ways to "disinfect the blood"?
I remember my grandmother having plasmapheresis. I think of hemodialysis or chemo... I have only a very basic understanding --maybe a misunderstanding?-- but this argument about the absolute absurdity of "disinfecting the blood" has me curious. Not for COVID cure, but in general.
whoa
YOU GUYS

I know that Trump is a total dipshit & what he said is incredibly dangerous.

If I misquote him when I'm trying to explain why what he said is dangerous, friends who admire him will dismiss my argument out of hand. THAT is why I want to be technically accurate.
