Almost like clockwork climate science deniers have looked at the models of COVID-19 related deaths and are claiming that because the models predicted more deaths than have so far occurred we cannot trust models in general including climate models. 1/n

What they ignore, purposefully or out of a staggering insitence on ignorance, is that it was the unprecedented actions taken to prevent the outcome of the model that worked. That’s what the modellers were hoping to sound the alarm to get us to do something. 2/n

This isn’t some ironic horror movie crap where the predicted fate is inevitable and action only brings you closer to an inevitable climax. 3/n

It makes me mad that they’re trying to use an application of data and modeling (that saved lives!) to undermine science and do more damage. And that I knew that exactly this would happen. So I guess the real Casandra was the cynic inside me all along. Blergh. 4/n
