When read multiple articles about the pandemic, it's easy to forget that *you personally* are not in charge of making better antibody tests, preventing people from packing into air-conditioned arenas, or managing some harrowing path to herd immunity.
It's very easy to feel like no one capable will figure these things out, based on the catastrophically inadequate leadership we've experienced so far. But that doesn't mean that *you* have to solve these mental puzzles until your head hurts. It's so easy to land there.
Remember to get in the backseat and lie down and look up at the sky. You're not driving. Remember what your important jobs and roles are on this planet. It's not immoral to tune out. You can give this moment its proper weight without letting it crush you.
Don't underestimate how emotionally taxing tiny bits of information can be under the current circumstances. They worm their way into your head and echo there. They accumulate. Sometimes a long vacation away from all screens is the only solution. Treat yourself with extreme care.
