An appreciation thread:

I've been fortunate to be a part of a number of threads that celebrate women scholars. I love these kinds of things. You know the ones I am talking about... where you tag 5-10 scholars you admire. It's a great signal boost, great for affirmation... 1/8
& I've found some great connections from them. Instead of tagging 10 women scholars, though, I want to take the time and focus on *one* ( #thankonescholar) who means a lot to me. A little over 1 yr ago, @liamerivaki found each other through a @womenalsoknow twitter thread. 2/8
We connected over a phone call about mutual interests, and met up for the first time @MPSAnet almost exactly 1 year ago to solidify plans for a paper. From here, we worked together on a paper for a conference and eventual submission. 3/8
Since then, between other projects, life changes ( #covidamiright), & the ups & downs of the TT, we've progressed on this paper and are finally ready to hit submit. But along the way I've gotten something far better than a manuscript. 4/8
I've gotten an honest to goodness friend. @liamerivaki is one of the most supportive, honest, clear, kind, helpful, insightful, passionate scholars I've had the pleasure of working with. 5/8
Not only is Lia an incredible scholar, she is the definition of a supportive co-author. She is a cheerleader. She has connected me with others who share my interests. She checks in with me and asks me how I am doing. She is honest about where she is at and stating her needs. 6/8
On top of all this, she is invested in her teaching and has her own robust research agenda. For anyone who even has a chance to work with Lia- DO IT. You will not regret it. She keeps you accountable and urges you onward with fierce conviction and support. 7/8
I'm so glad the Twitterverse brought us together, @liamerivaki . Thank you for being you! For anyone reading this, maybe write your own thread of appreciation for that one co-author who has meant so much to you. 8/8 #womenalsoknowstuff #womenalsoknow #thankonescholar
