I started by paying to record Demos from other people’s studios, but I didn’t have enough money for that. So, I found a job as a bartender and worked for 11 Months getting paid less than R2K a month.
I used to install FL Studio on a computer at the restaurant/reception and would uninstall before I go 2 sleep. That way they won’t know that I installed it. It was a Demo FL Studio. So whatever I produced, I had to export or else I won’t save the project.
After 11 months working in the hotel’s Bar. I managed to buy myself a computer and right after that I quit the job. It was too straining especially for money that little.
The reason I bought a computer was to try and learn how to produce my own music because I couldn’t pay for sessions and couldn’t pay for beats as well. Reason being that I didn’t have coins.

After quitting, I went straight to trying to find proper software to produce. At that time, if you aren’t using “Propellerhead Reason” or Logic, you were nothing.

Eventually Kay Masta plugged me with Reason 3.0 and right away I started learning using Reason, FL Studio 9 and Cubase 3. Selling Beats For R250. Those R250 were everything. Even though they weren’t coming as much I would have like for them to.
Eventually, I met with other friends, we created what was called B5 entertainment and tried to approach everything a little professional. After I was appointed as a producer e B5, I never looked back.
Met @TELLAMANWORLD and we started what we call @SelectPlayMusic. One of the artists we were working with ( @i_nana_atta) signed a deal with @UMGSA and UMG wanted us to to work on ideas for her, but our setup wasn’t really good, so they suggested that we hire a studio.
When I did the calculations, I figured that hiring a studio was gonna be very expensive, so I suggested that UMG at least buys equipment which is gonna be way cheaper than renting a studio. After the ideas we would keep the equipment. That’s how we landed better equipment.
What’s even more funny is that, we still have all that equipment till date and still works perfectly.
One day I’ll ask @TELLAMANWORLD if we could pass it to someone else. It probably will change their life too.
