Nice thing about working from home, at least, is the incentive to do more decent cooking. These two dishes were particular highlights this week.
Today’s: Chicken Caesar salad with homemade dressing, homemade croutons and bacon bits.
Today’s very late breakfast. French toast (which uses ciabatta bread and lots of spices - cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice) with streaky bacon and banana.
A trick I’ve also discovered is sprinkling the bread slices with Demerara sugar and bread crumbs after they been soaked in mix. This makes the French toast so perfectly crispy on the outside once it has been fried.👌
Turning to cocktails... This Bloody Mary is needlessly elaborate.
Not as aesthetic a picture as I would have liked, but I made a some great slow cooked pork belly with a homemade marinade. The coleslaw is delicious too!
Fillet steak, smashed potatoes and spinach. I enjoyed flavouring the steak in the pan with garlic cloves, and sprigs of thyme and rosemary from the garden.
