There's a shop in Thohoyandou known as Madina Supermarket. It is situated alongside the road heading to Mvusuludzo Mall opposite shoprite. This shop sells dishes and other non essential staffs, since the lockdown started this shop have been selling cigerrate.

An Indian man known as Yakub Ali Patel, was arrested at the early stages of Lockdown together with shoprite manager but were realised on fine. Yakub is very influential to the local mayor, Cllr Avhashoni Steven Tshifhango of Thulamela Municipality.

Patel was once arrested for murder case in 2018. One African (venda) who was a shop keeper disappeared and later found dead after a week. Patel is above the justice system of South African, he calls himself a prime minister of Thohoyandou.
