The last thing I am going to say about this Paula Sutton (Hill House Vintage) and Liv Siddall Instagram controversy, is if you have read "The Theory of the Leisure Class" by Thorstein Veblen and "Class" by Paul Fussell, you will understand what was triggering about the post.
The Theory of the Leisure Class posits that, as conspicuous displays of wealth became more frowned upon, the wealthy had to find ways to signal their wealth and status through other means.

Since everyone else had no choice but to work for a living, "leisure" itself became status
In a similar vein, right this moment, everyone around the world is trapped at home, likely in a tiny apartment.

Paula's picture was of a picnic in the beautiful outdoors surrounding a large stately home.

It's the very opposite of what everyone has access to right now.
It's not difficult to see why that picture of a carefree picnic out in the sunshine on the grounds of a house you own, large enough to afford you your own patch of the outdoors unrestricted by quarantine might make someone else feel bad about themselves.

That's not Paula's fault
But it's very telling indeed how everyone just leapt pass the obvious markers and reasons why Liv Siddall might have deleted Instagram due to seeing that picture in the middle of a pandemic that has everyone stuck at home, to racism as the certain motivation.

What lazy thinking.
