& #39;networking& #39; for young people seems much more challenging in the WFH environment. The & #39;informational& #39; is hard((er)ish) in a Zoom world. But it& #39;s also an equalizer. My pledge: I& #39;m ready, willing and available to chat about the work for anyone - you, your friend, your intern, etc.
Some tips from my esteemed brother @YehudaKurtzer:
& #39;1. Come w/ examples of available jobs for insight on appropriateness of your candidacy, or about the org in question; or, a job *not* available but represents a north star of sorts, so we can think about steps to get there.& #39;
2. & #39;you need to bring the skeletal structure of a narrative for a call to provide connective tissue. I don& #39;t have a spreadsheet of available jobs I& #39;m not in the search business; I& #39;m better giving advice about interesting things happening, then directing people to employment& #39;
3. & #39;It is good practice in networking to have several clear questions with possible concrete answers, rather than expecting the networkee to have a clearly developed plan or obvious suggestions; the more focused you are coming in, the more useful the time will be.& #39;
4. & #39;if you& #39;re hoping to apply for a job in my organization, be transparent about that in your advance outreach.& #39;

Just a few ideas. Now get out there, wash your hands, dont eat lysol, and have a great weekend.
