who said they do? https://twitter.com/richard_vixen/status/1253376616157282307
ive noticed a trend of folks getting oddly offended by certain things being represented somewhat frequently (like the “sloppy girl” thing in the comic). its like theyre making this huge leap in logic from “i see thing more now” to “this is the new standard of normal”
happens with mental illness, autism, etc. as well. i keep seeing people seemingly deadass offended that people are more open about that stuff now, and its taken to mean “being mentally ill or autistic is normal and not being those things is weird”
or that people are (wrongly, in the mind of the judgy dingus) proud of the mental illnesses or other relatively negative aspects of themselves. and like, i dont think thats the case at all. some people just have a self-deprecatory sense of humor, or theyre a bit ironic
like “what, you DONT have a mental illness?” type jokes are, to me, very obviously ironic, but i get the impression people are taking them seriously and getting defensive over it

sorry if this thread was totally incoherent, idk if i could phrase it any better
