Manufacturing and agriculture for international markets is a race to the bottom for small countries. We dont have enough land and we’d have to pay the workers dirt to be able to compete with the large undeveloped countries in asia and south america
Manufacturing and agriculture for local and regional markets makes sense because if you’re efficient enough you can compete with international imports and you already better suited cater to our tastes
For our country to develop quickly we have to focus on optimizing the public sector, modernizing and digitizing their processes. And we need to create an environment that facilitates local entrepreneurs
That means less bureaucracy in registering your business, lower corporate taxes, tax breaks for businesses that employ 5 - 25 people, courses focused on teaching new entrepreneurs basic business concepts, and most importantly
More financing options. Give banks tax breaks for lending to start ups and small businesses, govt subsidized loans (low interest rates) to entrepreneurs.
