Today marks the 75th anniversary of the San Francisco Conference, which laid the foundations of the United Nations #DelegatesDay https://www.un.org/en/observances/delegates-day
Brazil participated in the conference and signed the UN Charter in 1945 alongside delegates of 25 other countries
An important member of the Brazilian delegation was Bertha Lutz, one of the four women in the conference. She played a critical role to ensure that the preamble to the UN Charter included the equal rights of men and women
As a founding member, Brazil has supported cooperation among member states and the purposes and principles of the UN Charter
