Just finished reading this book on #pepguardiola by Guillem Balagué, wonderful read. While I was at it I couldn't help but notice the similarities bw Pep and Lampard and I thought it deserved a thread, so here goes,

Pep Guardiola VS Frank Lampard [Thread]
Many would know that Roman tried several times to lure Pep to the mighty Chels, it never happened and you get a feeling he's trying to do it his own way, without Pep ofc, but this is where Sir Frankie Lampard comes in and trust me the similarities are more than what meets the eye
Both were elite midfielders in their playing days and had important roles in the team, Pep was captain under cruyff and Lamps was an integral member of the leadership group at Chelsea and always lead by example. Ideal professionals, born leaders.
Both played under the finest managers the game has seen. To name a few, Pep with Cruyff and Van Gaal; n Lampard had his share with prime Jose Mourinho with the mix of a great man-manager in Ancelotti. He also endured frustrating spells under AVB n Benitez but never backed down.
In world football both are seen as symbols of integrity and class.
After several failed attempts, At 33 when most retire Lampard captained a depleted and aging chelsea side in the final for their only UCL trophy. What's similar you ask? Mentality and drive to win at any cost.
9, Lampard has given debuts to 9 academy graduates to Pep's 22(in his 4 years at barcelona.) He has been at the forefront of the youth revolution and has established a proper core for years to come. Considerably decreasing average age and massively increasing squad value.
Many questions were asked when an inexperienced club legend Pep stepped in and similar ones have been raised now. Just like pep, lampard tested himself in the lower division, got to the play offs, overall a great first year in management. Derby's shortfalls this season is proof.
Pep in his first season got rid of deco, ronaldinho and eventually eto'o. Lamps has shown similar shades of cut throat management by getting rid of Luiz and more would have followed if it wasn't for the ban. Either you're with him or your time at the club is over.
Behind the scenes, just like fcb's cule policy we are getting more and more former players in the mix. Cech(advisor), Jody(assistant), Makelele and Joe Cole(youth setup)...Recruiting people with a singular love for Chelsea will work as an extra motivation when things don't work
It's a stretch to say that Lampard will for sure emulate what Pep Guardiola has done, but even if he achieves half of what Pep has, I will be a happy man. This thread is just a subtle indication of what's brewing at the club and potentially a world class manager in the making...
...all at our beloved club.

Thanking you for reading through! Spare me if I happen to make a mistake or two, like I said it's my first thread and I'd really appreciate your support! Retweet if you like it!
