Almost everybody understood why we were distancing and taking all these precautions. At least until it directly affected their leisure activities. Now their rights are being trampled on.
If your situation is that your biggest problem is not opening up your beach house, I hate to break it to you, but you are living a privileged life. Thousands of people in your community are doing everything they can to just not get sick and lose everything.
And you may say "well what& #39;s the difference, I& #39;m stuck inside here. I might as well be stuck inside there". The difference is that your & #39;reach& #39; then extends far past your existing routine, very likely into more remote areas where medical services are not as readily available.
Nobody is going to stop you from driving to your lake house, but use your head and consider whether it& #39;s actually necessary. Think about your current daily touchpoints, then think about how many more there would be if you were splitting your time between two homes.
If you don& #39;t want to think about how your actions affect others, think about the # of projected cases, read about the sudden onset of symptoms, then consider whether you& #39;ll have cell service and a fully functioning hospital with ventilators nearby.
Would you need to be airlifted to a bigger centre? What if STARS is attending another incident at that time? Does your medical emergency in an ill-equipped area take precedence? Are you willing to die to go to your cabin? I know that& #39;s pretty dark, but something to consider.
If that local hospital only has 4 ventilators and there are 4 lifetime residents of that community also sick, do you think it& #39;s fair that they might not get one because you need it?
If you are an asymptomatic carrier, you are putting an entire community at risk by using their grocery stores and other amenities. I know nobody thinks they& #39;re sick and this is all just a bullshit exercise, but the silent spread is very real.
Think about your actions. They will not only affect you, but even if you only look at it selfishly you should come to the reasonable conclusion. Again, nobody is going to drag you out of your cabin except maybe a paramedic or a coroner.
This has been a stream-of-consciousness thread. I don& #39;t care to argue with you, because you& #39;re not going to listen to me anyway. Just use your head and try not to kill anybody on your way out.
