ok, let's clarify some things since im "this person" in this clip about "the woke left"

(1) Being criticized is not a call to be "cancelled". No one I'm aware of attempted to "cancel" Ball. I'm not even sure I know what this means. Pure self-victimizing strawmaning
(2) Saying "hey would mind not soft-pedaling and being chummy w/ ethnonationalists" isnt "canceling" anyone. It's called "criticism" and people who make (what I assume is very good) money working for pro-Trump multi-millionaires are fair game for criticism. This isnt "cancelling"
(3) notice the sloppy gotcha here. She accuses her critics of having a double standard and welcoming war criminals on MSNBC. Um. Me (the only "woke left" person mentioned in this intro) has published dozens of articles and episodes criticizing MSNBC for doing just this.
She attempts to paint all her critics as pro-Biden Resistance hypocrites because she doesn't want to address the fact that actual people on the left with earnest convictions maybe don't think legitimizing "the new right" (e.g. fascism) is something "the left" ought to be doing.
(4) for the millionth time the criticism isn't that Ball said one off-handed nice thing about Tucker Carlson, it's that it's part of a consistent pattern of handwaving away fascist tendencies of both Tucker Carlson and her far right co-host, co-author and business partner.
The Tucker point she was praising wasn't about Tucker standing up to "corporations" it was him criticizing Trump for not adequately protecting white identity under the false auspices of protecting "workers". Fascism uses faux-left language as a point of entry.
This is a deliberate strategy that should be called out, not treated like earnest common cause or a point of agreement. This is basic 101 shit. The Left, such that it is, should be loudly condemning Tucker and Enjeti not **entering into business arrangements with them**
There is no law of nature saying we all need to go into business with rightwing hate preachers, people who do nothing but incite against the homeless, LGBTQ, immigrants, etc all day. This "right-left" schtick is a corporate media gimmick, it's not a thing anyone is required to do
Asking people not to enter into business arrangements and be chummy with far right extremists who reject the basic humanity of trans people, immigrants, the homeless etc shouldn't be a difficult bar to meet. But for some reason this modest suggestion is "woke" "cancel culture"
