This morning I dropped off 2 take 12 coffee, two dozen donuts and two dozen muffins from @TimHortons to my Nana’s nursing home. They love Timmy’s, so it’s the least I can do. But on the way, I saw different cars pulled over. Drivers outside having breathing problems. A thread.
...My uber pulled over to the first one so we could ask if the driver was okay. She was having a panic attack, and her elderly father was in the car in a mask. They were on the way to the hospital. She was sobbing. She was scared. I asked if she wanted us to call an ambulance...
She said no. It was okay. We stayed at the side of the road on Eglinton, just to make sure. I was so worried. I did not want her to drive. But she insisted she was just having a moment. We finally left after she got in and drove off. My uber driver told me he’s seeing this...
...all over Toronto. People pulled over, outside of their cars, clutching their chests. We didn’t even make it another 3 minutes down the road when we saw another car pulled over on a main road, driver outside, clutching their chest, door left open. We pulled over again...
...He said he was okay. This time I insisted on calling an ambulance when Toronto Police pulled up behind us. Anyway, they said they would help him. We finally left. I was shaken. Again, my Uber driver explained he’s been seeing this everywhere. I’m in the east end of #Toronto.
I have never seen anything like this. And this started at 9:30am this morning. I wanted to get the LTHC home their morning sugar and coffee, and it was an eye opening experience. I’m in shock from seeing this. #Toronto
Seeing people struggle mentally and physically like this?!? Out in the open, on the side of the street?!? I have no words. This pandemic has a secondary crisis happening, and I just witnessed it. From the 401 to the Bluffs. Unreal. I have never seen this before. #Toronto
