I’m tired of normies spreading the meme that Spartans tolerated h*mosexuality. Back then, it was seen as a severely-punished crime & an abomination.

Logically, why would a civilization as disciplined as ancient Sparta ever condone h*mosexuality among its warriors?

THREAD
Normies love to spread this “g*y Sparta” meme the same way they spread the idea that Achilles & Patroclus were lovers, not friends.

They view history thru their hypersexualized & p*rn-addled brains, believing all mentor-student relationships of Ancient Greece MUST have been g*y.
If you want to paint an ancient Greek culture as g*y, look to Athens.

Athenians during the Classical Age, like Plato & Aeschylus, were the first to view the relationship between Achilles & Patroclus was g*y, even though Homer NEVER says in The Iliad.
Of course they saw them as lovers, since corruption & vice, like prostitution, alcoholism & greed, were so present in their own city.
One of the many Laws of Lycurgus, the founder of Sparta, punished h*mo relations severely, with either exile or death, & in that culture, exile was seen as worse than death.
The Laws of Lycurgus were not something easily discarded, since it was believed Apollo himself told Lycurgus the laws for Sparta, & both Apollo & Lycurgus were worshipped as gods.
The Spartans believed everything non-essential & decadent was a hindrance that could corrupt their carefully-built society. All indulgences & vices, like alcoholism, adultery, even greed (Spartans used iron bars for all trading), were banned & heavily shunned.
Furthermore, the state required its young men & women to marry & have children. Childless couples & single adults were frequently shamed for not providing children for the state.
It was a eugenic society that focused on producing the most elite & disciplined warriors possible.
They were reared to have complete mastery over their bodies & minds; they did not easily give in to pederastic lust.

Everything they did, they did for the benefit of the state & society, which they believe was blessed by the gods.
