From our source in the affirming-parents FB group:
A family with multiple "AFAB" kids who want to stop their periods is not unusual nowadays. This mom has one trans son (already blocked), but now the "genderfluid" 11-year-old wants to nix periods. What to do?

Birth control pills or shots are one option, but an IUD for tween AFABs seems to be a popular choice. One mom had her kid& #39;s put in at age 14.
A depressive episode might result from BC pills, but there are other options.
Tinkering with an 11-yr-old& #39;s endocrine system is no big deal in 2020. If your genderfluid middleschooler doesn& #39;t want to menstruate (how many want to?), maybe start w/an IUD, then move on to T shots.

Note: Putting girls at start of menarche on BC pills has been widely normalized, even those who don& #39;t claim trans ID. Total avoidance of periods for convenience sake is a mass experiment. What will be the outcome physically & mentally? How much iatrogenic dysphoria will it cause?
"Research has shown that adolescents who use birth control pills are more prone to be at risk for depression in adulthood."
