discourse abt which art is being shown is galleries is always done by people who dont know how galleries work. no there shouldnt be a wider selection of art from colonized peoples. it is almost never given freely- (1/2)

and in all honestly should not be OWNED by a gallery from a colonizing culture. everything SHOULD be returned, and there should be incentives to introduce more temporary exhibitions of that art, meaning that it is still shown to wide audiences but the country to whom it belongs-

recieves compensation and retains ownership. please do not complain about how this Big Gallery has a very small collection of, say, south american art. how the FUCK do you think they got any of that art to begin with. anyways killmonger was right, end of thread.

I LIED- this mostly applies to art from before the gallery was established. art from recently living artists from anywhere should be displayed! but that's not what the galleries are usually showing. this also obviously goes for museums but i dont have as much knowledge there.
