Ashley's transfer to Chelsea starts whilst still at Arsenal. In June 2005, Cole was given a fine of ÂŁ100,000 by the Premier League. This is because he was found guilty of making contact with Chelsea over a move, with Arsenal being unaware.

Personally, I'm not complaining.
After a lot of deliberation, Cole made the move to Chelsea on the 31st August 2006, for a reported fee of ÂŁ5 million.

The deal was closed after the transfer window had officially ended, and was not confirmed until an hour and a half after the deadline had passed.
Cole was given the number 3 shirt. On the 17th September 2006, he played his first full 90 minutes for Chelsea against Liverpool. Seeing the blues keep a clean sheet and winning 1-0.
On the 10th December, Chelsea faced his former side Arsenal. Where Cole, was public enemy number one for the night. Arsenal fans dubbed him "Cashley" and waved fake ÂŁ20 notes with Cole's face on them.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Cole suffered a knee Injury on the 31st January and cut his first season on Chelsea's payroll short. He did make a 12 minute cameo in the last game of the season again Manchester United in the FA Cup Final where Chelsea won 1-0.

He returned for the 07/08 season fully fit. On the 20th September 2007, Jose Mourinho parted ways with Chelsea. A decision that shocked many players including Cole.
Avram Grant was appointed as the new Chelsea boss.

One of his decsions was to drop Cole for Bridge when Chelsea faced Tottenham in the cup. A decision that may have bit back, seeing that Chelsea lost 2-1.
As Lampard said "It is always bad to lose to Tottenham because they make DVD's of it for the next 10 years".

On Mach 1st, Cole was restored to the starting line up against West Ham. The game saw him score his first Chelsea goal in a 4-0 victory.
The Premier League season ended in agony for Cole & Chelsea. The season was decided on the last day, when Chelsea needed to win against Bolton and United to either draw or lose against Wigan.. Chelsea drew 1–1 and Manchester United won 2–0, thus making Chelsea runners-up.
Cole was also in the team for when Chelsea played their first Champions League Final, against Manchester United. After extra time the score was 1–1; Manchester United won the penalty shootout 6–5 after Edwin van der Sar saved Nicolas Anelka's penalty.
This was the first time in four years that the blues failed to win any silverware. Due to this, Grant & first-team coach, Henk Ten Cate, were sacked after the Champions League loss.
The 2008/09 season, saw Cole play 2941 minutes in the Premier League. That equates to 34 games. This would be his most appeared in season for the PL.

The League was a disappointing one comparing to others, seeing the blues finish 3rd.
Chelsea went on to win the FA Cup, beating Everton on the 30th May. In the 6 games leading to the final, Cole played the full 90 in all. Keeping 1 clean sheet and assisting 2.

Overall he played 49 matches.
After starting Chelsea's first six games in the 09/10 league, Cole scored his third, fourth and fifth Chelsea goals at home to Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland respectively.
On 2 September 2009, he signed a new four-year deal keeping him at the club until 2013.

Chelsea faced Wigan on the last day of the season. They needn't have bothered to turn up as Chelsea beat them 8-0, which saw Cole score one, Also helping Chelsea win the PL.
He then played in the 2010 FA Cup Final, where Chelsea beat Portsmouth to give Cole the second league and cup double of his career.

By winning the Premier League for a third time and retaining the FA Cup for the first time, they became the seventh club to complete the "Double".
The 2010/11 season started off well for Cole & Chelsea. Seeing them win five-consecutive games Premier League, before tasting defeat to Manchester City.

The season however ended trophy-less, which resulted in the sacking of Carlo.
Chelsea won 21 games, drew 8 and lost 9. They conceded the fewest goals compared to all the other clubs in the league, sharing this with Manchester City.

Cole started all 38 league games for Chelsea, and was awarded the Chelsea F.C. Player's Player of the Year award.
The 2011/12 season. Cole played 48 matches that season, assisting 9.

In Chelsea's journey to the FA Cup Final, Cole played 3 matches, keeping a clean sheet in 2. They faced Liverpool, where they won 2-1. This was also Ashley's seventh FA Cup.
In the Champions League semi-finals against Barcelona, Cole was pivotal in Chelsea's 1–0 victory which included a goal line clearance that denied Barça an away goal.
In the second leg, Cole hoofed the ball up the field which saw Torres score the decisive goal and sent Chelsea to the Champions League Final. Did you mean that assist, Ashley?

Chelsea & Ashley were where they were a few years ago, this time against Bayern Munch in the final.
The match came down to penalties. Ashley stepped up and perfectly slotted his penalty past Neuer. Chelsea & Cole won their first ever Champions League.

December 1st 2012 saw Ashley make his 350th Premier League appearance.

On 22 January 2013, Cole signed a one-year extension. He helped the club win a European title during the 2012–13 season, playing in a 2–1 victory over Benfica in the 2013 UEFA Europa League Final on 15 May.
Cole captained the team on the last match day against Cardiff City in a 2–1 away win which turned out to be his last in a Chelsea shirt. On 23 May 2014, after the end of the season, he was included on the list of players released by Chelsea.
