Funny, the more I feel the pain of the workout... The more my brain tells me: This is hard. Ouch. Pain. Woe is me. Ouch.

That reverse plank & commando pushup hurt my elbows & palm joints...

But fixed my form & just literally shouted:

STOP IT BRAIN. I'M IN CHARGE.
FOLLOW ME!
I've done this consistently before for several times over the course of 16 months.

❌ Procrastinating?
✅ Command myself!

❌ Feeling depressed?
✅ Command myself!

❌ Feeling lonely?
✅ Command myself!

❌ Gonna binge eat & watch?
✅ Command myself!
❌ About to make an unhealthy and possibly a self-sabotaging choice?
✅ Command myself!

🥺 Feel like crying?
✅ ....okay that's a bit hard cause I'm a softy 😅, but yeah. Snots and all, I still fucking command myself! 😂

Emotions are good, but too much is spiral!
That has always been my biggest problem.

Now I'm a big proponent on "Detachment". ❤ I can care and not care at the same time.

Because I was always at the mercy of someone else, especially my shadow self!

And boy, did that really hurt!
How I circumvent this? It's not just detachment, but pure willpower. It is hard, because it takes practice to form and solidify.

You need LOADS OF PATIENCE!
That is what mistakes & roadblocks are for. 😊
They help you course-correct while having compassion and patience for yourself...

( *IF you choose to do that.* )

And you'd be surprised at how talking out loud would overwrite the assumptions you have of your weakness.
It's making use of the brain process in #neuroscience called "Efference Copy". And is the same reason why we are prone to external validation too.

Look it up. 😊 You can use it for any area of your life too, not just fitness.
So that's why the army soldiers shout!
I get it now. Battle cry really works!

Science, bitch. 😎

Sooo many people are far too demotivated, thinking they're weak — only to find that they were just uneducated all along!

Knowledge is power.
Taking action is virtue.
