Appointing Doreen is tokenism unless there is a team of informed experts with her bravery, bringing their knowledge and analysis to the table. Without that, those who appointed Doreen are revealing their unwillingness to embrace radical solutions backed by evidence. 2/

Doreen's appointment is a nod to Starmer's role in prosecuting some of the Lawrence murderers, the memory of which reflects well on the Labour leader. But we need more than that. 3/
