Today should have been day 1 of the first #LAMDAMishMash Festival and obviously it& #39;s not, but i just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge all the hard work that everyone involved put in - from the staff at @LAMDAdrama to all the amazing artists we programmed. (oops a thread /1)
The energy & support @LAMDAdrama have put into helping me develop this festival has been incredible & is also a huge testament to their belief that artists should be empowered & in control of their own creativity. We had over 30 artists programmed all with self-created work. (/2)
I really feel for all drama school students who are dealing with the prospect of entering an industry when no one knows what it& #39;s going to look like when we return. BUT that also means the & #39;traditional& #39; trajectory often equated to success has to be questioned, which is good! (/3)
The one thing I do feel confident about is that power structures and relationships between artists, venues, producers etc are changing through this time as we realise that we are all in the same boat, and I& #39;m hopeful some of that will stick around. (/4)
