It demands much more effort, persuasion, sleight of hand, false equivalence, intellectual dishonesty... to pretend transwomen are unproblematically women than to accept that transwomen are males who need/desire to live according to the stereotypes arbitrarilly ascribed to women.

Even if transwomen have a female brain (they don't), the rest of their body is male. As nobody can see inside our skull, TW are socialised as males and experience the world with their male body. Pretending this doesn't matter requires a lot of lies.

And soothing the tension between an allegedly female brain (=desire to conform to femininity) and male body is not women's responsibility. We have enough to do trying to liberate ourselves from the trap of femininity, be safe, and obtain/keep reproductive rights.

Even if sex is a spectrum (it's not), we recognise the vast majority of ppl as unambiguously male or female (irrespective of behaviour). Pretending that because we can't instantly recognise the sex of a tiny minority, then ppl who are unambiguously male can be female is absurd.

Even if women were not killed, assaulted, harassed in public spaces, raped with impunity by males (we are), we would still have reasons (privacy, shared physiology and experiences) for wanting and needing spaces away from ppl with male bodies and male socialisation.

All the self-deception and lies needed to convince ourselves that ppl born and raised as male are the same as women and need the same rights and provisions, are bound to be emotionally costly. The retribution is social: if you don't accept this lie as true, you are a bad person,

are dangerous to others and need to be shamed and ostracized.
The only reason some of us are prepared to treat a minority as something they are not (to the detriment of all) rather than care for their specific needs is not science, not reason, not kindness

but social pressure. And such social pressure can only come from a position of power, the position occupied by rich, mostly white, well-connected, entitled men who never take No for an answer & are used to bending reality and truth to obtain what they want. We all know the type.
