Hitler used the Armenian Genocide as a template for his plans for the final solution. At the Obersalzberg Address in 1939 he outlined these plans and stated: “Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?” /7
Today, in 2020 it is still denied in some countries. Many countries refuse to recognise it as genocide because of the political ramifications. Schools don’t teach it, news rarely covers it, theatres don’t stage plays about it. 8/
As of today only 29 countries officially recognise the Armenian Genocide. The UK is not one of them. There is a phrase that you know if you have Armenian heritage; a phrase built on a century of denial & ignorance: Armenians are a people killed twice. 9/
