Reactionary politics are not what people think tbh. People hear "reactionary" & they think extreme. Sure that can be part of it but it's not the full story. Mostly reactionary politics is willingly allowing opposing extremists to define your entire political view 1/

& seeing that extremism everywhere. It also by extension tends to make you very extreme. As someone politically obsessed, one of the things I've noticed about people, is that they by and large *hate* politics. Put your politics on a dating profile, people run the other way. 2/

Bring politics up on a night out, people say "NO, NO, NOPE, WE ARE NOT DISCUSSING POLITICS TONIGHT, I JUST WANT TO DRINK AND DANCE TORY BOY. NO POLITICS TONIGHT. LOOSEN UP DUDE." They truly hate it. So are they super left-wing or do they just hate politics? 3/

Most people just hate political extremes and aren't massively into politics. So ppl can sit & whine about how left-wing ideologies are taking over or how transgender ideology is everywhere now or whatever but honestly? I think most of these types need to get off the internet 4/

and go and make friends that have nothing to do with politics. So on the back of both Brexit & a MASSIVE STONKING MAJORITY you're convinced that all our institutions are left-wing & that left-wing ideology is taking over. Make it make sense. It does not. 5/

Frankly these are the types that leave the Tory Party to go join UKIP because the Tory Party UNDER BORIS MOTHERF**KING JOHNSON is no longer right-wing enough for them. No, we just don't buy extreme right idpol nonsense. Sorry not sorry. 6/

The same can be said of TERFs to be perfectly blunt. I was discussing woke stuff once w/ an older transman & what he said stuck w/ me "to be honest it sounds like you need to make better friends mate". Maybe the woke extremists *were* your friends, well I am here to tell you 7/

the extremists on the other side will cut you off just as quickly when they start testing you out for political purity. You don't fight extremism with yet more extremism. Stop reacting, go make non-political real world friends who do not give a flying monkeys about any of this 8/

which you'll find is MOST people. Get a few non-political hobbies too. I like comic books & steam trains personally. Mostly if you're consistent enough you're going to clash w/ them at some point anyway & then you'll be distraught that you don't fit in all these groups 9/

No, you left one extreme to go join another. Maybe now it will finally sink in that actually the problem *is* the extremism. RE your politics, don't base your politics on a reaction. Build a strong solid foundation of actionable principles & apply them consistently. 10/10
