Paternalism is defined as (the supposed wrong of) interfering with A& #39;s liberty for A& #39;s benefit. But what& #39;s the term for (the supposed wrong of) prematurally interfering with A& #39;s liberty for B& #39;s benefit without giving A the chance to do the right thing autonomously?
Paternalism is defined as (the supposed wrong of) interfering with A& #39;s liberty for A& #39;s benefit. But what& #39;s the term for (the supposed wrong of) prematurally interfering with A& #39;s liberty for B& #39;s benefit without giving A the chance to do the right thing autonomously?
This second supposed wrong is also often referred to as paternalism (at least in German) and I think this fits well with our pre-theoretical understanding of the term but is quite different from the first usage of paternalism. So what& #39;s a better term?
