Patrick Queen being the smartest ILB in the draft: a thread

Sees the puller, knows TE is down blocking towards him, stays inside and under control, makes the play.
Sits eight yards deep on third and long.

No. 3 is pushing seam at him, which says “I want to clear you out”

Gives a bump to delay No. 3, while watching the drag. Runs it down and takes inside angle, forcing runner to run towards sideline instead of for a first down
Nothing crazy here...

Queen signals the motion like he’s the QBKnows it’s coming.

I remember Chris Spielman talking about watching tape on a giant projector against a wall three times before a game.

“I’ve already played the game three times before Sunday.”

Film junkie.
Zone blocking tells Queen to shuffle left ✅

Center tries to reach, Queen puts his face in the dirt check mark ✅

Sees back decide to open up, mirrors, sprints and hunts him to the sideline ✅

Shedding, aggression, SPEED.

Patrick Queen. ILB1
Speed.

No one ever beats his angles. Even false stepped inside before getting on his high horse.

TFL.
My eyes are closing. Awesome day, can’t wait for more tomorrow.

Queen is a slam dunk

I’ll continue this thread, but leave with this. Dude is always making calls based on personnel and alignment.
