🍓 — anime i recommend with reasons why [a thread]
Since a lot of people may be a bit bored due to quarantine, I decided to write this thread in hopes of helping people find new anime.

I will keep updating it with more reccomendations! I hope this is helpful and a nice read!
Neon Genesis Evangelion;

A mecha anime that manages to capture action, psychological and philosophical themes all into one. This mix of themes makes it so interesting from other anime and it truly shines from it’s wonderful design, theme song and it’s array of characters.
Code Geass;

Honestly my favourite anime of all time. It has a wonderful, unique plot that really shows the perspective of different views. It follows the story of a power-hungry prince who starts a rebellion. It honestly made me experience a rollercoaster of emotions.
Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid;

A light-hearted, genuinely hilarious anime that is wonderful to watch with friends. It follows the story of a dragon who fell in love with a woman. The wonderful, bright character designs and the comedy is what makes this anime amazing.
Nanbaka;

This anime is very underrated but it’s eye-catching and so unique. It follows the story of 4 inmates in the world’s most formidable prison and how they try to escape - one has the ability to unpick any lock. It has a wonderful, bright art style and is full of surprises.
Akame Ga Kill;

TW: This show has a lot of gore! The story follows a young man who joins a secret assassination group. It is honestly very emotional and sad, but has an amazing array of characters that you will surely adore. The second theme slaps.
Charlotte;

This show has a unique plot about people getting powers from a meteorite named Charlotte and follows a group of students with said powers. I won’t spoil much but it is a slightly-confusing plot, but the ending is extremely bittersweet.
Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!;

Imagine Sailor Moon but with boys and a pink wombat. The boys are given the job of protecting the Earth. It is a comedy, but it manages to represent boys wearing feminine clothing and being girly very well. Really sweet!
Dog and Scissors;

Also a comedy. An introverted book worm sadly passes away and reincarnates as a dog, in which his favourite author picks him up and adopts him. Though they can not communicate, they develop a cute friendship. It manages to weave comedy aspects very well.
Squid Girl;

It follows the comedic life of a squid girl who invades the land in hopes of taking over. She fails and moves in with a family and starts a beach-restaurant. It’s hilarious and wonderful and the character designs are so cute followed with the more cute art style!
91 Days;

The plot is that there are no laws and the mafia rule. A young man tries to get revenge from those who killed his family when he was young. It honestly has beautiful scenes and art and the story is almost addicting. It’s truly underrated.
Pandora Hearts;

Oz is a boy who lives a luxurious life, but someone manages to end up in an Eternal Prison named Abyss. It has very dark themes, and is Alice In Wonderland-like, so the unique mix is interesting. The characters capture that Alice-feel by being wacky and weird.
Vampire Knight;

A young girl gets attacked by a vampire and forgets almost everything. Now she attends a school with half human and half vampire students. It’s a unique romance with a refreshing set of characters. It was made in 2008 so the art style may not be as nice to some.
Madoka Magica;

A revolutionary anime that changed the Mahou Shoujo genre forever. The anime follows the story of magical girls who make contracts with an alien. It’s so gruesome while having a cute art style and that is what makes it shine. It has an amazing storyline as well.
Devilman Crybaby;

A wonderful readaptation of the Devil Man series. I think you must be 16+ for this show as it has suggested adult themes and nudity. It follows Akira, a boy who gets the power to turn into a Devil. It is heart-touching and funny, all whilst having a sad note.
Mamotte! Lollipop;

The story follows a girl called Nina, who accidentally eats a special pearl thinking it’s a sweet. Two boys now protect her so that others don’t steal it, as it is part of a contest where people must find and return it. It is very funny and very sweet!
